Fees:
The first consultation costs 80 €, the following sessions cost 100 €. One session lasts 50 minutes. This price also covers my work outside of sessions (data processing, evaluations, etc.).
In some situations, depending on one's financial situation, lower fees (€ 80) can also be offered.
Due to a recent change in legislation (as of January 1, 2024), clinical psychological treatments are now included as statutory benefits under social insurance legislation. This means that everyone with statutory health insurance in Austria is entitled to subsidised clinical treatment. Depending on the social insurance provider, you can claim back between 33 and 46 euros per session. In order to qualify for the subsidised treatment, you will need to provide a confirmation from your doctor (Hausarzt) no later than the second session. Your doctor will need to indicate on the form that clinical psychological treatment is needed (i.e. because you suffer from a mental health disorder).
For the costs of clinical psychological counselling/treatment you can claim a tax refund in some cases. The cost of psychological treatment can be listed on the annual income tax return form as "medical expenses" ("Außergewöhnliche Belastung"). This applies to persons who pay wage and income tax in Austria.
